University Avenue, a major downtown Toronto street in the BUBBLES & SQUEAK Inc.’s service areas presentation, is 2.9 kilometres / 1.8 miles long and starts in the south at Front Street and continues north as a grand boulevard to College St. Strictly an institutional and commercial street where one will find many office buildings, Government offices as well as “hospital row” and from Queen St. W. to College St. the double northbound and southbound lanes are divided by a series of gardens c/w trees, flowering plants, patches of grass and stone walkways. One of the most photogenic streets in the city when gazing north up the avenue championed by the gigantic Queen’s Park Legislature building.
As the city is laid out in a grid pattern the following east –to – west main streets intersect University Ave.: from south to north are Front St. W., King St. W., Queen St. W., Dundas St. W., and College St.
University Ave. connects with Queen’s Park Cres. at College St.; north to Bloor St. W. where the roadway continues north for 9 km / 5.6 mi. to Highway #401 as Avenue. Rd. although the BUBBLES & SQUEAK Inc.’s Service Area presentation focuses on the stretch from Bloor St. W. to St. Clair Ave. W. a distance of 2.1 km / 1.3 m. and intersects with Bloor St. W., Davenport Rd. and St. Clair Ave. W.
