Spadina Avenue, 3.3 kilometres / 2.1 miles long, is a main commercial road in the BUBBLES & SQUEAK Inc.’s Toronto Service Areas presentation. Starting in the south at Queens Quay by Lake Ontario it passes through several BIA communities to Bloor St. W. where it becomes Spadina Road which continues north for another 4.5 km or 2.8 mi through the luxurious Forest Hill residential neighbourhood to Eglinton Ave. W. The BUBBLES & SQUEAK service area focus is on the downtown section of Spadina Avenue where commercial spaces such as retail storefronts predominate with office space on the upper floors. The stretch of Spadina Rd. to St. Clair Ave. W. detours around Casa Loma (a Castle built in the city back in the early 1900’s) and is primarily upscale residential.
Toronto’s recent condo boom has resulted in many high-rise buildings, primarily located on these main streets although most of the real estate on Spadina has been developed; BUBBLES & SQUEAK Inc. cleans common areas of condominiums as well.
As the city is laid out in a grid pattern the following east –to – west main streets intersect Spadina Ave.: from south to north are Queens Quay, Lake Shore Blvd. W, Front St. W, King St. W., Queen St. W., Dundas St. W., College St and Bloor St. W. while north on Spadina Rd the main intersecting streets are Dupont St., Davenport Rd. and St. Clair Ave. W. Bathurst St., to the west, runs parallel to Spadina Ave. & Rd. and University Ave., Queen’s Park Circle and Avenue Rd. are to the west.
